Ongoing Work from The Studio of Paul Mullowney, and Mullowney Printing, San Francisco, California
New Studio at 931 Treat Avenue
September first marked the first year anniversary of moving into a new location in the heart of San Francisco's Mission District. 931 Treat is a 1400 square-foot facility where we are now set up for etching, photogravure, silkscreen, and letterpress.
2012 saw the publication of Sandow Birk's Monument to the Constitution, (pictured above, in progress), a major direct gravure etching in nine panels on handmade Japanese paper.
Workshops and exhibitions will be coming soon.

Outside Looking In
Night is especially nice with the studio lit up. It's all crazy inside with new work on the walls everyday and the hum of tattoo machines. Five or six artists all at once cranking out drawings or carving skin--and I trying to come up with an idea to carve wood.
The prints in the window: My Up With Jesus sail for Japanese kite, and the old ads are called Windo-Ad from Mullowney Printing Company, Minneapolis, patented by my grandfather, J.D. Mullowney in 1926.
