New Studio at 931 Treat Avenue

September first marked the first year anniversary of moving into a new location in the heart of San Francisco's Mission District. 931 Treat is a 1400 square-foot facility where we are now set up for etching, photogravure, silkscreen, and letterpress.

2012 saw the publication of Sandow Birk's Monument to the Constitution, (pictured above, in progress), a major direct gravure etching in nine panels on handmade Japanese paper.

Workshops and exhibitions will be coming soon.

Weekly Salon Nights

During the exhibition I will be hosting weekly salon nights during which students and friends are invited to hang work, read poetry, play music, and just hang out. Please join us April 13 and 14 from six to nine p.m., and also at six p.m. Tuesday, April 26, when we will be joined by visiting artist in the print department, Favianna Rodriguez. Don’t miss it!

April 13 lineup

Heather McLaughlin

Portland radical DIY printmaker and teacher, and Executive Director of Flight 64 Print Studio will show work. Check her out at Hardcore Mermaid (dot) Com.

Alex R. Wilson

Portland based, Alex writes poetry and fiction, and plays music under the moniker Son Cats. He secretly wishes he was an astroseismologist. He will be reading a few poems and one short piece of fiction. The poems revolve around sonic language, mythology, and reactions to art in various cities. You can hear his music here and read his poetry here.

Abigael Tripp

Is a current PNCA student and former professional poet. She will be reading from recent work also on line here. Abigael is missing her home in Montana, to where she intends to return this summer to work in the hay fields and drink beer with her dad; float in the river and ride horses.
